About the Artist

Born in South Africa, Annie studied sculpture at the University of Pretoria. She continued her studies in Belgium and Italy, where she studied sculpture and ceramics. Whilst lecturing at a South African tertiary institution, she maintained a constant flow of exhibitions, specializing in porcelain glazes.

After immigrating to Australia in 1988, Annie pursued a degree in glass design at the University of South Australia, which she completed with high distinction.

Subsequently, Annie has become a well-renowned studio glass artist contributing to a variety of exhibitions and selling her hand crafted glass worldwide.

At present she works from her own studio, using the slumping method. She has traveled extensively and has readily absorbed fresh insights and inspiration from different continents and cultures while remaining true to her elegance of style.

Annie is renowned for the excellence of her workmanship. The pieces she creates are a product of her rich knowledge of European, African and Eastern cultures which she is able to distil into objects of timeless beauty.
